Domestic abuse

Domestic abuse doesn’t just refer to physical violence, it can include emotional, mental or financial damage and threatening behaviour too.

It could be that you are a victim of domestic violence, of being forced from your home or having your children taken away from you. You might also be being stalked by a former partner or admirer or find yourself a victim of more subtle behaviours, such as coercive and controlling behaviour, or financial abuse.

Suffering abuse of any kind is unacceptable. Our expert team relishes the opportunity to use the law to help protect clients from their abusers.

It’s best to act quickly and decisively to try to diffuse the situation.

Protective orders

There are a range of protective actions that may be available to you. In certain instances our specialist lawyers may advice a same-day emergency basis injunction to help keep you or your family safe.

Once immediate protection is in place, our legal team can then discuss longer term options such as orders to ensure you have the peaceful and secure occupation of your home, protect your children, and provisions for interim financial support.

Our advice is provided in complete confidence with the expertise, empathy and compassion you need to efficiently resolve an abusive situation.

Representation at court

Our specialist team are highly experienced in advising and representing alleged or accused perpetrators of violence. We can provide representation in court, or offer practical and proactive advice to achieve the right solution.
