The Heart of Hedges
Ever since John Kirby Hedges founded Hedges Solicitors in 1789, the firm has been a cornerstone of the local community. John wrote two volumes of the ‘History of Wallingford’, successfully got a permanent injunction to preserve the town’s Saxon walls that remain protected to this day and even bought the site of Wallingford Castle from the Crown back in 1817, going on to gift the grounds to Wallingford Town Council in 1977, enabling them to be used as a beautiful public amenity.
In May 2021, Hedges Law became Employee Owned, meaning each one of our employees is now a part owner of the business we are all so proud of. This decision was made after the events of 2020 as a way to thank the people who helped to turn the business around during an incredibly difficult time and to ensure the future of Hedges is safe in the hands of those to whom it matters most.
