Ian Davies

Solicitor

I am a specialist family solicitor, with more than twenty years qualified experience. I have particular expertise in financial arrangements arising from relationship, marriage, and partnership breakdowns, which often involve a pension element. I have also gained experience in specific forces pension schemes but I represent a wide variety of clients from all sectors and areas. I am a Resolution member and have been a member of the Law Society Family Panel, recognising good practice in Family Law, since 2011.

I joined Hedges in 2023, following an eight year stint as Partner and Head of Family Law at a smaller firm, re-building and strengthening the Family department including the takeover of two separate firms. I moved to Hedges so I could focus on the client side of my work, which is what I enjoy – representing clients and helping them through one of the toughest times in their lives with solid advice and support.

Away from work I can be found in the gym or swimming pool, having rediscovered my love of fitness after lockdown. Having visited Venice on my honeymoon, I fell in love with it and have been back almost yearly ever since, exploring more and more areas as well as returning to our favourite haunts. I hold a long term ambition to retire there.

WHAT MY CLIENTS SAY

"Talking with Ian was the only time I can remember that I have not felt ‘othered’, and was able to simply interact without masking or having to lean into the role of disabled victim. I know from long and wearisome experience that there is not a great deal of general understanding about autism, and the impact of dealing with someone who ‘gets’ it was profound."
