Kim Kardashian and Kanye West have now reportedly settled their financial dispute outside of Court.
Perhaps this is evidence that even the most difficult of characters can eventually be persuaded to reach an agreement without attending Court proceedings!
It’s been reported that Kim’s lawyer was “key” in mediating between Kim and Kanye to help them reach an agreement. Whilst the rules in America are likely to be different to those here in the UK, this has shown that mediation can be successful for just about anybody.
You might be dissuaded against attending mediation, if you think that your spouse is going to be unreasonable, but with court proceedings as an alternative (as in Kim and Kanye’s case), you might be surprised how effective mediation can be. Let’s not forget that this agreement followed Kanye’s purchase of the property next door to Kim, claiming so he could be near his children, but I suspect the purchase was mainly made to ruffle Kim’s feathers!
