Time for change? Announcement of the proposals for Will reform

The current law governing Wills stems from the Wills Act 1837 which is now believed to be outdated. With  the new proposals it is hoped that the changes will bring ease to individuals when considering their Wills.

The proposals have created concern amongst professionals, who fear that the changes will likely increase challenges to Wills.

With public consultation open until 10th November, there is likely to be a great deal of discussion ahead, so stayed tuned!

“we foresee these proposals resulting in an increase in challenges from disgruntled or dissatisfied relatives, which will only serve to increase court action and all its attendant costs”
