Daniel is a specialist and highly regarded private client lawyer who qualified as a solicitor in 2007, joining Hedges in August 2023 from a prominent national law firm. He is frequently invited to speak as an expert at national charity and taxation events.
Daniel prepares bespoke Wills, sets up and administers trusts, administers estates and drafts and registers powers of attorney. He also prepares deputyships, disabled persons trusts and personal injury trusts. He frequently acts as a trustee, attorney or deputy.
In addition, Daniel possesses vast experience in advising both business owners and agricultural clients. Daniel has worked with such clients in relation to their succession plans, exit strategies, and their wider estate planning requirements. As a very personable lawyer, Daniel provides tailored solutions for clients in a straightforward manner. The best part of his job according to Daniel is “having the opportunity to spend time with a wide range of people all of whom have different family structures and to help them implement their lifetime estate planning”. He enjoys working with multiple family members and being called the family lawyer.
Daniel is a full member of STEP, a global professional body, comprising lawyers, accountants, trustees and other practitioners that help families plan for their futures and has recently been awarded an advanced certificate in Will writing. He is also a member of Solicitors for the Elderly, a national association of independent lawyers who specialise in legal services for older and vulnerable people.
Outside of work, Daniel is a keen football supporter (AFC Bournemouth) and coaches his daughters under 7’s football team. Daniel is married and has 2 children aged 6 and 3 and prior to moving to Oxfordshire was raised in Poole, Dorset.
