Oxford University has produced eight unicorn start-ups (those who are are now valued in excess of $1bn) in the last decade. Not only is this the best record in Europe, it is the 7th best in the world!
The key players in Oxford’s success have come in the tech sector. Both LinkedIn and Eventbrite were founded by Oxford alumni (which I didn’t know until I read this article).
I wonder what great idea will be the next Oxford unicorn. The future is bright, (maybe) the future is Oxford!
Oxford University has produced more start-ups valued in excess of $1 billion than any other university in Europe over the past decade, a new study has revealed.
Oxford alumni have founded eight such unicorn companies in the last ten years, so named as they are exceedingly rare.
