So the fees of £390 represent a relatively high hurdle to over-come on a costs-benefit analysis for the average disappointed employee. Whilst the fee hike may have deferred some litigants from bringing bogus claims, the overall effect on claim reduction is concerning.
Six out of 10 potential employment claimants have been shut out of the system due to the introduction of tribunal fees, the president of the employment tribunals has said.
