Our family law team offer an initial consultation to those contemplating or facing relationship breakdown, separation or divorce.

It’s a one-off meeting with one of our specialist family solicitors.

If you don’t want or need any further advice afterwards, that’s no problem, and if you decide you’d like to instruct us to move things forward for you immediately, we can do that too: the choice is very much yours.

You’ll pay a one-off amount for the consultation, there are no hidden or extra costs. Once we’ve got some basic information from you as to what you are likely to need from that first meeting we’ll be able to confirm the amount: we keep it at a very sensible sum that reflects the huge value that you will get from our experience and expertise.

We’ll take all of your key information before the meeting: the last thing you want to spend your consultation time doing is watching your lawyer write down information! We’ll send you a link to complete the details we need about your life and situation (this will take no more than 20 mins and you can stop/start whenever you like) so that when you meet with us, we’ll have had time to consider your circumstances and prepare our advice.

You’ll leave your consultation with a much clearer idea of the options ahead of you in terms of next steps, and some initial advice on your legal situation.

Feel free to bring a friend or family member along to support you and/or take any notes.
Also, do send us in advance a list of the key points you’d like to cover in this meeting.
The meeting will typically last around an hour and we’ll send you a summary of the advice we give you.

The meeting and any communications we have with you will be in the strictest confidence. If you’d like to meet us somewhere other than our office this can be arranged with you.

You’ll leave your consultation with a much clearer idea of the options ahead of you in terms of next steps, and some initial advice on your legal situation.
