Main Purpose of the Role

This is an exciting time to join Hedges Law. After becoming the 5th employee-owned law firm in the UK, we have ambitious growth plans and are looking for dynamic self starters to join the committed team. One of the drivers of growth will be in our private client team and we are recruiting an experienced solicitor to play a key role in growing our team and attracting an increased proportion of instructions from existing clients and/or referrals.

The focus of the team is to provide a high level of client care to high net worth clients in an efficient and profitable manner.  You will have excellent communication skills and be able to work as a team member either remotely or in the office. You will have a strong desire to embrace new technologies and a STEP qualification would be highly desirable. 

The role offers flexible working practices to be discussed at interview.

Key Tasks:

1. The role will involve providing inheritance and lifetime planning advice. This will include drafting Wills including those incorporating discretionary and life interest trusts; advising on inheritance tax planning; the creation and administration of trusts; the preparation of LPAs; advising attorneys under LPAs in their role; Court of Protection applications including Deputyship Orders; and advising on mental capacity and advice in relation to care fees.
2. Appropriate supervision, support and training of Private Client team members
3. Writing team blogs, articles, commentary, etc.
